Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear to my first physiotherapy session?

Wear loose athletic clothes and footwear that you feel comfortable moving in. Please also make sure that the clothes you choose to wear allow for the injury site to be seen and assessed.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

Not at all! However, if you are planning to submit your physiotherapy receipt for reimbursement, please just check that your insurance provider does not require a doctor’s note prior to processing the receipt.

Do you direct bill my insurance provider?

Yes, I direct bill most insurance providers! Current providers include Pacific Blue Cross, Medavie Blue Cross, Green Shield, Manulife Financial, Desjardins, Canada Life, D.A. Townley, and Sun Life Financial. If I am unable to direct bill your insurance provider, I will provide you with a receipt for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

What information should I bring with me?

Please bring your Personal Health Number (PHN). If you have any imaging or specialist reports pertaining to the area that we will be treating, bring them! This information is helpful and can often guide how we treat an area. Prior to your physiotherapy appointment, you can call your doctor’s office and ask them to provide you with a hardcopy.

Where should I park?

There is street parking available in front of our bright red house.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

Yes! Although there are two steps to get up to the front door we have a ramp that we can put down. Please let me know ahead of time if you require the ramp placed for you.
